Aadhaar Card New Rules : Starting November 7, 2025, several major changes related to Aadhaar Card will come into effect. If you have an Aadhaar card, this news is important for you. Now, you will no longer need to visit an Aadhaar enrollment center to update your details.
You will be able to update your Aadhaar information such as name, address, date of birth, or mobile number online from home. This new facility has been introduced to make Aadhaar more convenient and secure. Additionally, linking your Aadhaar with your PAN card has now become mandatory. If you haven’t linked them yet, your PAN card may become inactive.
No Need to Visit Aadhaar Centers Anymore
The first big change is that you can now update your Aadhaar information online. Previously, you had to visit an Aadhaar center to make any changes, but now everything can be done digitally from home.
The information you provide, such as your name or address, will be automatically verified using government documents like PAN, Passport, Driving License, or Ration Card. This will make the update process faster, easier, and more secure.
Updated Fees for Aadhaar Services
Earlier, people had to wait in long queues at Aadhaar centers, but now updates can be completed within minutes. The fee structure for Aadhaar updates has also been revised:
- ₹75 for updating name, address, or mobile number.
- ₹125 for updating fingerprints, iris scans, or photographs.
- Free biometric updates for children at the ages of 5–7 years and 15–17 years.
- Online document updates are free until June 14, 2026, but if done at a center, they cost ₹75.
- Aadhaar printout costs ₹40.
-
If you want home-based Aadhaar enrollment, the fee is ₹700 for the first person and ₹350 for each additional person at the same address.
Aadhaar-PAN Linking Mandatory by December 31, 2025
Another major change is that every PAN cardholder must link their PAN with Aadhaar by December 31, 2025.
If you fail to do so, your PAN card will become inactive starting January 1, 2026, meaning you won’t be able to use it for any financial transactions.
For new PAN card applications, Aadhaar verification will also be mandatory.
Additionally, the KYC (Know Your Customer) process for banks and financial institutions has been simplified.
Now, KYC can be completed through Aadhaar OTP, video verification, or in-person verification — making it completely paperless and faster.
Benefits for Aadhaar Holders
These changes will greatly benefit Aadhaar holders. The home-based online update facility will save time and reduce hassle.
However, make sure your PAN and Aadhaar are linked before the deadline to avoid any issues later.
Keep your documents ready and use online services for convenience.
