Bank Holiday : Banks across most Indian states — including government, private, and rural branches — will remain closed on Wednesday, November 5, on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima. According to the list of holidays issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), several states will observe a bank holiday on this day. However, online banking and ATM services will continue to function as usual.
Banks to Remain Closed on Wednesday, November 5
Guru Nanak Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Guru and founder of Sikhism. The occasion will be celebrated with great devotion in Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand.
At the same time, Kartik Purnima is also considered an auspicious day in Hindu tradition, and due to its religious significance, many other states will also have a holiday.

1 November (Saturday): Karnataka Rajyotsava / Igas-Bagwal
Karnataka will celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava, the state formation day, while Uttarakhand will observe Igas-Bagwal, also known as the “Diwali of the Gods.” Banks will remain closed in these states.
5 November (Wednesday): Guru Nanak Jayanti / Kartik Purnima

7 November (Friday): Wangala Festival (Meghalaya)
Meghalaya will celebrate the Wangala Festival, the traditional harvest festival of the Garo tribe. Banks in the state will remain closed, while banks in other states will function normally.
8 November (Saturday): Kanakadasa Jayanti (Karnataka)
Being the second Saturday, banks across India will remain closed. Additionally, Karnataka will observe Kanakadasa Jayanti, the birth anniversary of the saint and poet Kanakadasa.
11 November (Tuesday): Lhabab Duchen (Sikkim)
Banks in Sikkim will remain closed on this day for Lhabab Duchen, a significant Buddhist festival commemorating Buddha’s descent from heaven.
